2017-Documentary about indigenous women healers

Maloca is supporting the making of a unique documentary on women healers.

The documentary crew needs help with financing the professional production of a unique documentary that shows the power and wisdom of indigenous women from several regions  of Bolivia: Santa Cruz, La Paz, Cochabamba, Oruro, Potosí, and Tarija.

What is the main objective?  To show the world how important indigenous women healers’ knowledge is to guarantee the sustainability of development as well as the survival of indigenous cultures.

Who is working on this project?

There are four professionals in the film production team:

  • Nidia Rosmery Bustillos Rodríguez– Director of Gaia-Terra.
  • Roger Araoz Echavarría-Film and media production expert
  • María Elena Solares Fernández-Cinematography expert and member of the Documentalist Association of Cochabamba.
  • Oscar Paolo Fabían Alquizalet Arce-Socioeconomic and media researcher in the field of environmental rights and  revaluing of traditional knowledge. He works on sound design for documentaries.

Thanks to your help this documentary will contribute to make visible indigenous women’s wisdom, unknown to the world for centuries. It is crucial for the survival of indigenous communities and cultures. Women are the protagonists, the healers. Let’s give them an opportunity to share their knowledge globally. We all have much to learn from them!
